Philip Sherburne
I'm a big fan of Philip Sherburne - the most prolific techno writer around. His Villalobos interview in The Wire Magazine, a couple of months ago helped me unwind Ricardo's production mysteries - even if barely mentioned in the article...
He has intelligently covered the minimal movement and now it's evolution and fragmentation into divergent directions. He sees, as I do, that contemporary techno is a seriously relevant evolved form of art and music. The desktop/notebook computer becoming a force of change and uniqueness in music as the electric guitar once was...
He is also a producer and DJ who regularly posts his mixes on his blog.
His monthly column in Pitchfork, "The Month in Techno" is a must read.
