2009

My plans for 2009 are to really step up production output... I have over a thousand unfinished tracks, at lease a few of which are probably worth releasing... : ) Need to just run them through my dirty dub factory. I've been torn in 2008 between ultra-clean minimal tech/house and dirty dub techno, but I think I'm set on the idea that this upcoming year is going to be dedicated to dub techno and truly "out" productions.

I'm also starting a house night (read moody… Continue

Push Gigs Recap - Fargo - September 12 and 13

Had a blast playing Push gigs in Fargo. Video was a pain in the arse, at the Plains Art Museaum, but thanks to Dan Reetz, finally got Resolume cooking and our murky set put me in a trance. Wired, the party the next night, was more up and stimulating and all DJs brought it. Nice to see MBR's Arv succeed on her maiden voyage.

Thanks very much to Guy Jean.

hey, wait a sec... all this focus on me... but why aren't YOU signed to one of those labels?!?! :-)

Already tried. Never got any answer from Thinner. Echochord didn't even accept my as a "friend" on MySpace. The EchoSpace guys are basically unreachable (for me at least).
I'll try some PR again as soon as the new batch of tracks I'm working on is finished. As long as the motivation is high... :-)

tell me which label then :-) , 'cause so far all my attempts at getting some kind of label interest haven't had much luck...
hey, do YOU wanna offer me a record deal? ;-)

hey Dave, you hit the nail on the proverbial 'head' re: Ken Wilbur's great work yet::
>>"sometimes I don't get why he's interviewing rock stars (like the guy from Pearl Jam)... which have no redeeming or uplifting value"<<
...h3h...yep,,, i know exactly what u mean..
I'm guessing that he's falling-somewhat-into the need for a bit of advertising or marketing,
probly in order to keep up the funding of Integral Institute's various costs on multimedia & perhaps some of the costs
of their "real world" offices/school
that they've got out in Colorado,,
yeah it's hard to tell---still, u'd think that such an intelligent guy like Wilbur would just
TELL his readers that he's aiming for some publicity in order to get paying-members/students to offset the cost of operating their
school/Inst., etc. =][=

I used to listen to lots of early 20th and still love it, all of it. I listen to a huge variety of stuff. My teacher Ralph Shapey was a student of Stefan Wolpe who was a student of Schoenberg. I really love the post-WWII European composers: Nono, Berio, Boulez, Stockhausen. Also lots of jazz, renaissance music, just about everything...Hindustani music, music from West Africa, Indonesia, folk music, electronica, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, etc...

Thanks Dave. STOP! is original, "lo-fi", made with me, a slightly out-of-tune Steinway grand, and an analog four-track. I recorded one track as an improvisation, no edits; then recorded each subsequent track as an improvised response to what was already there...
